CREW Charlotte represented at 2011 Winter Leadership Summit & Council Meeting

 

CREW Charlotte Leadership Committee Member and Co-Chair of the *NEW* CREW Network Committee, Carrie Sharp attended the 2011 Winter Leadership Summit & Council Meeting (February 10 – 11, 2011) at the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans, LA.  As a veteran CREW Charlotte Member (Former Co-Chair of Programs-Most Influential Committee 2007; Co-Chair of CREW Careers 2010-Co-Chairs of the Year with Kimberly Mobley), Carrie says her goals were “number one, to listen and learn and number two, to meet as many people as possible,” and helping her achieve those goals was Nancy Olah, Past President (2005) and CREW Foundation Trustee (2008-2010).  Nancy, who frequently attends CREW Network events, helped Carrie connect with other members across North America.  “Nancy went out of her way to make introductions, asking me, ‘Who have you not met yet?’, and for that I am so grateful.”

Some of the reasons CREW Network Committee was formed are to educate CREW Charlotte members of the benefits of the CREW Network (Career Center, CREWBIZ, Sponsorship Playbook, Industry Research, etc.), as well as to increase participation of CREW Charlotte members in Crew Network and promote awareness of CREW Foundation.  The message Carrie came back from New Orleans with is “It’s never a cold call with CREW Network.”  Carrie Says, “It is expected when a CREW member contacts you, that you give them the courtesy of having coffee with them, and with 8,000 members,  that is a LOT of feet in the door!”
