As a follow up to a recent Charlotte Ledger story about the Downturn’s Double Whammy Against Working Women, UNC Charlotte’s Dr. Jill Yavorsky will talk about labor force participation rates, work and orgs' responses, divisions of labor at home and all things related to the gender wage gap.
Dr. Jill Yavorsky is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Organizational Science at University of North Carolina Charlotte. She received her PhD from The Ohio State University in Sociology. Her research focuses on U.S. labor market patterns by gender, workplace inequality and discrimination; and divisions of labor among parents. Her research has been published in top-tier social science journals including American Sociological Review, Social Forces, and Journal of Marriage and Family and supported by national funding institutes such as the National Science Foundation. Additionally, her work has garnered widespread media attention from leading media outlets such as the New York Times, The Atlantic, TIME, CNN, Chicago Tribune, NPR, Forbes, among others.
